At the age of 19 At the age of 19, she dropped Here, her first single. It became a huge hit immediately that both critics and the fans were awed by the song. The song reached the top spot at 19 on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs of 2015. The same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which reached the top of Billboard charts including Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track as, due to the interview with Rap-Up that she did with those who heard her tracks could understand her story of learning to love themselves as well as doubting herself. Cara has a reputation for including messages on emotional health, kindness and self-love in her songs. Cara's music reflects of her own struggles with mental illness and insomnia. In an interview with Reuters, she stated that her album is "half tumultuous" and "half completed". She found that therapy helped her grow and urges her fans to make the same. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was barely the age of 10. It ignited her passion for music. She began singing covers of her favorite songs when she was 13 to prove to the world she had the skills and the courage that was required to become a performer. In fact, one of the covers Sweater Weather got her attention by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and compose music for her.
